Required Skills and Experience
- Good Logic and Critical Thinking skills
- Expert Ruby on Rails – of course!
- TDD/BDD, Must know it, love it and have used it extensively!
- MVC knowledge and experience, Must know it intimately!
- Capistrano, Must know it, love it and have used it extensively!
- Subversion and Git
- Unix/Linux/FreeBSD, We deploy on these OS platforms exclusively
- MySQL, Know how to write custom SQL queries, joins, unions and action queries.
- Rubygems, Know how to install and manage Ruby gems
- Remote SSH work
- Passionate and Serious about your work
- Quality minded and Service oriented
- Self discipline, Must work hard without much intervention
- Requirements gathering, Know how to talk with clients and convert their goals into requirements
- Good communication, Must communicate with clients daily using our online project management system
- Most importantly, a desire to have fun and support our clients goals
Desired Skills
- Large scale (1 million+ users) application experience
- Comfortable with Unix/Linux shells (bash, sh, korn, csh, etc.) and scripting them
